Welcome Letter
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and the International Scientific Committee, it gives us great pleasure to invite you to the 38th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID 2020). The organization of the meeting is a joint effort of ESPID members from the Netherlands. The ESPID forms the basis for investigators interested in infectious diseases in children and infection prevention in childhood. As organizing committee we strongly feel that to further advance in our field it is pivotal to connect to adjacent disciplines. Therefore our main intent is to bring together the most prominent researchers in and relevant to the field of paediatric infectious diseases and immunology. Our meeting will provide an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and generate new ideas in a relaxed, smart albeit casual atmosphere. We believe the host city of Rotterdam is an ideal venue to achieve these goals. The city is easily accessible and has an excellent congress venue in the city centre close to convenient hotel facilities and vibrant restaurants and bars. Bring your research results and ideas to Rotterdam and join us to interact with fellow PID friends and colleagues from around the world. We will balance the outstanding scientific programme with fruitful social and networking activities.
