Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee and the International Scientific Committee, it gives us great pleasure to invite you to the 38th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID 2020), which will be held on 26-29 October 2020 as a fully virtual meeting.

The organization of the meeting is a joint effort of ESPID and members from the Netherlands. ESPID forms the basis for investigators interested in infectious diseases in children and infection prevention in childhood. As organizing committee, we strongly feel that to further advance in our field it is pivotal to connect to adjacent disciplines. Therefore, our main intent is to bring together the most prominent researchers in and relevant to the field of paediatric infectious diseases and immunology.

Our virtual meeting will provide an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and to generate new ideas with PID friends and colleagues from around the world while protecting the safety and well-being of all participants.

A record number of high-quality abstracts was received for the ESPID 2020 Meeting and we strongly believe that the digital format will expand the global reach of the research, learning, and networking of our outstanding programme.

We look forward to receiving your contribution to and to sharing with you the experience of the Virtual EPSID Meeting in October 2020.
