COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Update

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We appreciate that most of you are overwhelmed with the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic that is consuming a lot of our time and energy across the globe.

After much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to postpone ESPID 2020 with the new dates of 26-29 October 2020 at the De Doelen in Rotterdam.

Current registrations to the event will be transferred to the new dates and late breaking abstract submission has been extended to 15 July 2020.

We believe that our Annual Meeting is an important scientific event that brings together clinicians and researchers in the field of paediatric infectious diseases. The present COVID-19 pandemic emphasises the importance of international collaboration for treating paediatric infectious diseases. We strongly believe that even in the face of an unprecedented pandemic that it will be important to have ESPID 2020, albeit later in the year. We hope that it will be worth the wait and look forward to your active participation.

We will continue to provide updates on the meeting website and to all our faculty, industry partners and participants.

We very much appreciate your support around the decision that we have made. We wish you and your families all the good health and resilience during these difficult times.

Warmest regards,

Delane Shingadia
ESPID President on behalf of ESPID Board

Annemarie van Rossum and Pieter Fraaij
Chairs, ESPID 2020 Meeting on behalf of the Local Organising and International Scientific Committees
